Palletways, Europe’s largest and fastest growing express palletised freight network and part of South African based Imperial Group, has launched the industry’s first palletised freight product specifically for home deliveries.
The new Pallets to Consumers (P2C) service for corporate customers aims to improve the efficiency of product deliveries and offer much-needed flexibility for the end consumer. It enables retailers to integrate their systems and website with Palletways’ platforms to offer their customers a seamless service and also incorporates a set of delivery options to include a choice of Premium AM or economy.
Premium AM is the fastest possible delivery option, usually made the morning after despatch, and Palletways will provide a two-hour delivery window prior to their delivery. Customers who have booked the standard economy service will be offered the option to change their delivery time and date after they place an order, should the existing delivery be inconvenient. Economy takes between 48 – 72 hours and customers will receive an email and SMS as soon as the product reaches the depot offering the alternative delivery slot.
Michael Sterk, chief commercial officer of the Palletways Group, said: “The main driver behind the growth of B2C deliveries is e-commerce and there are correlations between the increasing number of people shopping online and the growth in delivering palletised goods to residential addresses.
“We know there’s the expectation that products ordered online should be delivered to customers at a time to suit them, rather than them having to collect. It’s important there are as few barriers to purchase as possible so rather than offer collection, delivery is now becoming an important part of the overall buying experience.
“We’ve spent many years meeting the transportation needs of businesses from DIY equipment to garden supplies, home accessories to furniture. We have robust processes in place along with unrivalled service excellence to ensure that retailers looking for a reliable, capable partner can now deliver products safely to customers’ homes with P2C.”
