Palletways and Transland Group Extend Collaboration with 10-Year Agreement

We are pleased to announce the renewal of our 10-year partnership with Dublin-based Transland Group, a long-standing and trusted member of our international network. Our collaboration, which began in 2008, continues to go from strength to strength, driven by a shared focus on service excellence, innovation, and sustainable freight solutions between the UK and Ireland.

To mark this new chapter, Transland has introduced two new dual-branded trailers that will serve its international routes. The additions include a standard double deck trailer and a specially designed split double deck version, built to handle the wide range of pallet sizes and combinations that characterise cross-border transport. Both trailers proudly display the Transland and Palletways logos, symbolising the strength and visibility of our partnership on the road.

A partnership built on performance and trust

Founded in 1993, Transland Group recently celebrated its 32nd anniversary. The company began its journey transporting newspapers and magazines between the UK and Ireland, before expanding into palletised freight in 2002. Since then, Transland has become one of our most trusted and high-performing members, consistently recognised for its outstanding reliability and service quality.

The team has received multiple Palletways Platinum Awards and was named Best Performing International Member 2023 at our Network Conference in Lisbon. Transland also operates its UK base alongside us at Fradley, strengthening our joint operational capabilities and ensuring smooth, efficient cross-border connections.

Commitment to sustainability and innovation

Sustainability remains at the heart of Transland’s operations. In addition to the latest trailer investment, the business has introduced eight purpose-built double deck trailers designed to meet Ireland’s 4.65m height restrictions, improving load efficiency and reducing CO₂ emissions.

The company has also transitioned its car fleet to hybrid and electric vehicles, installed on-site EV charging points, and is progressing plans for solar energy generation at its depot.

Our partnership with Transland continues to set the standard for reliable, sustainable, and innovative freight services between the UK and Ireland — and we look forward to building on this success for many years to come.

Transland Group and Palletways

Rob Gittins, Managing Director UK at Palletways Group, said:

“We are thrilled to be extending our long-standing relationship with Transland for another decade. These new dual-branded trailers are a visible symbol of our strong partnership, and a clear demonstration of Transland’s continued investment in delivering high-quality, efficient freight services. Their dedication to innovation, sustainability and service excellence mirrors our own values and plays a vital role in maintaining the high standards our customers expect across Europe.”

Kieran Conlon, Managing Director at Transland Group, added:

“The arrival of these two new trailers is a proud moment for us. They not only represent our brand on the roads, but also our deep-rooted partnership with Palletways and our shared focus on adapting to customer needs. Whether it’s managing mixed pallet types or ensuring smooth cross-border delivery, these trailers give us the flexibility and capacity to continue growing and exceeding expectations. This renewed agreement is about ambition, innovation and raising the bar for palletised freight.”

This 10-year renewal cements Transland’s position as a core partner in the Palletways network, and reinforces both companies’ commitment to collaborative, customer-driven logistics that meet the evolving demands of the UK, Ireland and wider European markets.
