Striving for a sustainable future for everyone

At Palletways we want to go beyond the buzzwords and create a genuine sustainable future for all. That means creating a strong company that is sustainable for the benefit of the environment, the communities where we exist, and the people that work for us. Throughout our network, our teams are constantly participating in and creating new initiatives to help achieve these objectives and continually improve our sustainable approaches. Driving a greener future

The Hub and spoke model that we use is one of the most efficient models in logistics. Our depots are closer to collection and delivery points than any other network which means less miles travelled to collect and deliver freight. This model not only optimises truck capacity but also reduces empty mileage, cutting unnecessary emissions. We are continuously refining this approach to strengthen our sustainability efforts through:
Participating in verified carbon-avoidance projects. Our 2 most recent projects have Prevented 360 tCO2e (equivalent to quarter of a million HGV miles) from being emitted.
We have funded the planting of over 12,500 trees to improve the world's forests and carbon sponges.

Promoted and grown participation in the company EV, cycle to work and car share schemes across our employee base. This has not only increased the number of electric vehicles driven by our employees, it has also reduced the number of cars travelling to our sites.
Our Iberian network was recently awarded the Lean & Green Award, which is a recognition given by the Association of Manufacturers and Distributors (AECOC) to companies demonstrating exceptional commitment to reducing their carbon footprint through optimised logistics and transport processes. The award was given for a 20% reduction in carbon reduction across the network.
New hub shed lighting installations using LED technology have significantly reduced electricity consumption in many of our hub facilities.
Our hubs, depots and members are increasingly investing in and using alternative fuel sources, including electric trucks & FLTs, for collection, delivery and hub operations.
Member depots across network have installed solar panels, while some members have also embarked in rainwater harvesting schemes to reduce their water consumption
Palletways and its environmental sustainability committee are always looking for new climate-friendly initiatives to bolster and improve our own sustainability.
We hold ISO 9001 and 14001 across multiple domestic networks underpinning our commitment and practices.

Sustaining a healthy company, communities and people

Palletways’ Corporate Social Responsibly strategy includes wide ranging initiatives that aim to improve the wellbeing of our staff and the communities we operate in. Focusing on these issues, and ensuring our company maintains financial health, is the best way to ensure we support sustainable and thriving communities.

Supporting Local and International Charities

Supporting a multitude of CSR and charitable initiatives across Europe, from supporting community education initiatives in Spain to funding cancer care in the UK. Military Covenant - Silver Award Winner

Awarded by the UK Ministry of Defence, formally recognises organisations that actively support the Armed Forces community which includes reservists, veterans, spouses, cadet force adult volunteers and cadets. 

Employee Health & Wellbeing

Palletways provides wellbeing support and advice platforms for its employees across the network. These services are confidential and available to access 24/7. We are also Investors in People accredited.
