Finding Better Ways, Together

find better ways toward a sustainable pallet network

At Palletways, sustainability is not a standalone initiative or a box to be ticked. It is a shared responsibility that shapes how we think, how we operate, and how we plan for the future. It influences everyday decisions as much as long-term strategy, helping us build a stronger business while doing the right thing for people and the planet.

This belief sits at the heart of our group-wide initiative, Find Better Ways.

More than a campaign, Find Better Ways reflects a mindset we are embedding across our entire European pallet network. It challenges us to continually improve, to question the status quo, and to take responsibility for the impact we have today and tomorrow.

Creating a sustainable pallet network

The initiative is driven by one clear question: How could we do this better?

That question guides our actions across three core pillars:

Our Planet

Reducing our environmental footprint and acting responsibly in everything from transport efficiency to energy use.

Our People and Communities

Supporting wellbeing, developing talent, and making a positive contribution to the communities we serve.

Our Business

Building a resilient, innovative and sustainable model that delivers long-term value for customers, members and partners.

This approach is not about meeting minimum standards. It is about creating lasting impact, building trust, and strengthening the network for the future.

Turning commitment into action

Across Europe, Palletways countries and depots are already bringing Find Better Ways to life through practical, measurable action.

Initiatives range from the introduction of electric vehicles and solar-powered facilities, to mental health support platforms and partnerships with educational organisations. Each reflects local priorities while contributing to a shared ambition.

There are already clear results. In Palletways Iberia, smarter logistics planning has helped reduce carbon emissions by 20 percent, earning recognition through the Lean and Green Award. In the UK, around 15,000 trees have been funded to support reforestation projects. In Italy, collaboration with sustainability councils is helping to shape greener supply chains across the industry.

These are not one-off efforts. Together, they form a growing culture of progress that turns values into everyday practice.

Local focus, network-wide ambition

A key strength of Find Better Ways is its flexibility. Every country, region and depot has the freedom to focus on the actions that will make the greatest local difference, while remaining aligned to a clear group vision.

From energy-saving investments and wellbeing platforms available around the clock, to skills development and operational improvements, initiatives are designed to be practical, measurable and scalable.

This balance of local insight and network coordination allows us to stay grounded while continuing to raise our ambition.

A long-term commitment

Find Better Ways is not a launch moment. It is an ongoing commitment.

In a fast-changing world, sustainability is no longer optional. It is essential to building a business that lasts. The organisations that succeed will be those that innovate responsibly, earn trust, and care deeply about their people, their communities and their future.

That is what Find Better Ways stands for. Not perfect solutions, but better ones, found through constant learning, collaboration and action.
