Hungary for growth

Palletways Truck

Palletways Hungary has celebrated record volumes and a growing membership base over the past 18 months. The network, which started with eleven members, transported around 100 pallets a day in its first month of operation in October 2018. This figure has significantly increased with the network currently moving between 600 and 700 pallets a day.

Further underlining its exponential growth, Palletways Hungary reached a notable milestone in February this year, when it shipped a total of 100,000 pallets. Its product portfolio includes building materials, non-perishable food-stuff, gardening products and beverages. The network currently works with more than 500 customers and has moved more than 36,000 tonnes of goods since launching.

Peter Kovacs, the network’s Managing Director, said: “I’m incredibly proud that in less than two years since our launch, we’ve managed to reach this significant milestone of 100,000 pallets. This result underlines the effectiveness of the Palletways business model, the strength of our membership, as well as the great potential of Eastern European markets. It is my pleasure to welcome two new members to the network that will further increase our coverage and reach.”

One of the newest editions to the network includes Szam Sped, founded in 2012 and based in the eastern Hungarin town of Hajdúszoboszló. The company deals with road freight, airfreight, sea freight, as well as value-added services.

Gyula Pinter, Business Development Manager at  Szam Sped, said: “We have recognised the huge opportunity the palletised distribution market presents and for us so it was a natural choice to join Palletways. In joining the network we’ll be able to diversify our service portfolio and strenghten our market position in Hungary. We’re looking forward to developing the business together with our fellow members and the team of Palletways Hungary.”

The second new member Nem-Sped, founded in 2010, is active in the transport and warehousing industry.

Laszlo Nemeth, Fand Director, added: „ “We started out 23 years ago providing warehousing and warehouse construction services. Since our launch our goal has been to optimize our offering through diversification. We consider our membership with Palletways as a as a great opportunity to do that. As the latest members of Palletways Hungary, we strive utilise our ten years of logistics industry experience and the dedication of our team for the benefit of the whole network.”
