Lucky staff members from Somerset based logistics firm, Just Vans, were invited to enjoy BBC Children in Need motoring extravaganza ‘CarFest South’ after providing the charity with free transportation to take stock to three major events.
The charity approached Just Vans for help to move goods from its warehouse in Leicestershire to the Royal Bath and West Show, CarFest North and CarFest South. Around seven pallets worth of stock were transported through the Palletways network to each of the CarFest events.
Long serving driver for Just Vans, Lucien Rossetto, was invited to attend alongside operations manager, Robin Greenfield. Lucien has been a driver with the company since it started in 2001 and was one of the drivers involved with the transportation of fundraising stock for the BBC Children in Need shops on-site.
Lucien said: “I confess to being a bit of a ‘petrolhead’ so I was really thrilled to be invited along to the show. It was all about the cars and from the older models to brand new ones coming out. It was a highlight to see the uphill drive pasts, but also to help out the charity at the same time.”
Robin Greenfield, operations manager for Just Vans, added: “It was a privilege to be able to help out such a worthy cause. Thanks must also go to my fellow Palletways members who reduced or even forfeited collection and delivery charges. It makes me proud to be part of Palletways”.
Just Vans is one of more than 100 members in the Palletways UK network. Palletways’ distribution networks are made up of independent transport companies who share resources to deliver consignments of palletised freight to market faster and more cost effectively than ever before.
