James Wilson

Chief Executive, Palletways Group

James joined Palletways in 2004 when he and Phoenix Equity Partners successfully formed a management buy in acquisition of the Company.  James is responsible to deliver the strategy of the Group to shareholders and has led the expansion of the Palletways brand across Europe. 

He has a wealth of experience in the logistics industry having worked for the TNT Group for over twenty years between 1980 and 2001. Starting as Regional General Manager at TNT he climbed to a number of senior positions within the company including Managing Director TNT Express Worldwide, UK & Ireland, Regional Director Northern Europe and Senior Vice President Europe before becoming CEO of TNT Australia & New Zealand. In this role he was responsible for restructuring the company's diverse range of Australian companies into the new globally positioned TNT Post Group in Australia. He was responsible for the selling off of non-core companies and created the Global Express, Logistics and Mail structure. During his tenure, the Group acquired Ansett Air Freight from Ansett Airlines in 1999, which created a $1 billion Australian market leader.

James started his career at the National Freight Company (NFC) as a graduate trainee in 1974 where he rose to the position of Regional General Manager.
